| FAQs Who are the instructors and what is their  experience level?
 All TIM Academy faculty have specialized training and  special education classroom experience. Many of us have advanced degrees and/or  areas of expertise (i.e., working with younger children, working with parents,  etc.)
 Is the Academy approved?
 The TIM Academy is  a professional education provider approved by the Pennsylvania Department of  Education. Act 48 credit hours are available.
 What methods are taught?
 The TIM curriculum focuses on structured teaching (TEACCH methods), applied behavior analysis  (ABA), Picture Communication strategies as well as our own time-tested methods.
 Where are sessions held?
 Workshops are usually held at the TIM Academy site in  Berwyn, PA (15 miles west of Philadelphia, five miles west of the Blue Route  /1-476). Classes can be held on-site at school districts or in other locations  by special request.
 What classes are best for general education  teachers?
 Regular classroom teachers will benefit most from the Structured Teaching for the Included Child,  a two-day training emphasizing strategies for high-functioning, included  students.
 What prerequisites are required?
 No previous training is required but some independent  hours are recommended for those  taking Beyond the Basics, Structured Teaching Level 2 or Changing Challenging Behaviors.
 What preparation is needed?
 No formal preparation is required except for those taking Changing Challenging Behaviors (a  pre-training assignment provided at registration should be completed prior to  the class).
 Are training aides provided?
 Yes, we provide course manuals for all workshops.
 Will I receive ACT 48 credits for participation? What paperwork will I need?
 Yes, all workshops are certified for ACT 48 credits. You  will receive the required paperwork upon completion of the workshop.
 How do I get to the TIM Academy?
 Driving directions are listed on our site. You  may also take the R5 train from Philadelphia to the Daylesford Station. The  Academy is a ½ mile walk up Old Lancaster Road.
